The Community Service Committee will be collecting money, items, or personal time to help sponsor these charities. Marcia Searson and Elaine Wargo, Chairpersons 1. End 68 Hours of Hunger: This charity collects food for students in need in Lake County. Each week, volunteers sort, package, and deliver approximately 500 food bags to 35 local schools. These bags are to provide food for students during the weekend to prevent hunger during those 68 hours. 2. Little Annie’s Hope Train: To provide basic essentials for the homeless in Northeast Ohio. 3. Sub Zero Mission: The Sub Zero Mission believes that nobody should freeze to death in America so we are helping the homeless stay warm during winter months. 4. Senior Readers: To provide kindergarten and first graders an opportunity to listen to an adult read a story and for them to read to an adult. Please complete the attached Volunteer sheet to be notified of the available dates to volunteer. The time is from 12:50-2:45 on Monday, Wednesday, and or Thursday. If you can not commit but would like to participate, please sign-up for the backup list to help if a volunteer needs to cancel. Aimee is in need of six seniors per day. Location is Perry Elementary School, Perry. 5. Gamma Theta Scholarships: Provide Memorial Grant-In-Aid to college students enrolled in education and scholarships for our actively teaching members’ classroom needs.
