Kathleen Baka Sponsored by Pam Richmann Kathleen is a retired teacher with over 40 years of experience. She was an adjunct teacher at Kent State University, Geauga Campus, Cuyahoga, and Lakeland Community College. Kathleen was a part time gifted teacher at St. Paschal Elementary School and a gifted intervention specialist for Mentor Public Schools. Kathleen also taught at Philips Osborne School, Gilmour Academy, Erieview Catholic High School, El Porton Academy, Urban Community School and Trinity High School. Kathleen has a long list of volunteer activities which includes: Groundwork U.S.A., Cleveland Museum of Natural History, Black Lives Mater- Lake County, Literature Leap Friends, and Northeast Ohio Rapid Response just to name a few!
Robin Echols Cooper Sponsored by Pam Martin Robin Echols Cooper has 30 years' experience as a professional educator. She is the architect and engineer of Story Lab in Motion and an actress with Women in History. Robin was a teaching artist for the Center of Arts Inspired Learning Organization and adjunct instructor in the Education Department at Lake Erie College. Robin also authored the book- Rock-n-Rhyme. Robin volunteered at Elefence International and Reach Out and Read where she was a Board Member. Robin has also worked at Starting Points providing training for early childhood professionals. Robin is a member of NAACP.

Gretchen Baptie-Sponsored by Sally Rogus Gretchen is a third-grade teacher with the Madison School District. She has been a professional educator for 20 years with a M.Ed in Reading Specialization. Gretchen is President of the Madison Education Association since 2017. She is also a member of the Building Leadership team at North Elementary and a student teacher Cooperating Teacher with Lake Erie College. Gretchen is involved at Hope Ridge UMC as a Sunday school teacher, worship leader and vacation bible school leader along with a member of the Riverside Band Boosters.
Angela Smith-Sponsored by Sally Rogus Angela is the Superintendent of the Madison School District since 2015. She has been a professional educator for 38 years with a M.Ed. in Secondary Education and Curriculum and Instruction, Administrative Certificate and Superintendent’s Licensure. She is also chairperson for Buckeye Women’s Committee 2016. Angela has many leadership roles in her district and professional memberships. Her community involvement includes Madison Kiwanis, Madison-Perry Chamber of Commerce, United Way, and Friends of the Theater at Stow-Munroe Falls High School.
Theresa Solar -Sponsored by Sally Rogus Theresa is principal a North Elementary School in Madison School District. She has a M.Ed in Special Education and has taught for 20 years. Theresa is a member of her District Leadership Team, Building Leadership Team, Internal Monitoring Team, Response to Intervention, RESA, and a student teacher cooperating teacher. She is involved in her community as a volunteer at the Madison Food Center and ABLE tutoring adults.
Gabriela Peters-Sponsored by Sally Rogus Gabriela is a kindergarten teacher in the Madison School District for 3 years. She has a BA and BFA in education and dance. She graduated from Lake Erie College and was given the President’s Award. Gabriela also was the founder of the college dance team, a historian of Mortar Board and president of Student Government and president of the Campus Activities Board
Erin Nusker-Sponsored by Sally Rogus Erin is a kindergarten teacher in the Madison School District for 12 years. She has a M.Ed in Curriculum and Instruction. Erin has led her school’s kindergarten team, is a certified mentor and takes on leadership roles within her school. She has also published 2 books. Erin has started her own company aimed at creating materials and training teachers, children and families with social emotional skills. She is actively involved at community events and ran a youth basketball league with her husband.
Michelle Wyatt-Sponsored by Sally Rogus Michelle is a third-grade teacher in the Madison School District for 21 years. She has her M.Ed in Curriculum Instruction and Assessment. She is on her district’s PBIS and IAT committees. Michelle works with 4H Livestock and is a show pig breeder. She is also involved with her community youth wrestling and football groups
Melissa Schultz-Sponsored by Sally Rogus Melissa is an assistant principal in the Madison School District. She has been a professional educator for 32 years in many different capacities. Melissa has a M.Ed in Supervision and Administration. She has helped develop and implement service-learning activities and service immersion experiences for students. Melissa fosters partnerships among community partners to facilitate this program. She organizes parent and student orientation for the Learn Lead Serve Service-Learning Program. Melissa has been the featured speaker for many educational organizations. She is on the board of directors for NPO named Little Annie’s Hope Train.
Sherri Mersak Sponsored by Terri Martin Sherri is a technology teacher in the Riverside School District. She has been a professional educator for 21 years. Sherri has a M.Ed degree in Curriculum and Instruction and Educational Technology. She is on the district leadership team for technology. She received an Excellence in Teaching Award in the Garfield Heights School District and a Riverview Elementary School Excellence in the Classroom Award. Sherri is a group leader at the Greater Cleveland Church of Christ, a children’s ministry leader, and has been on mission trips to Indonesia and Mexico
