As we continue to maneuver through the COVID-19 Pandemic, we are faced with many challenges and new responsibilities both personal and professional. Due to the unpredictable nature of fall and the beginning of the new academic year, we have moved Member Inductions to Spring 2021.
The Executive Board strongly believes a Fall Induction would deter potential membership during these times. It is our hope that this change in date and a year round new membership drive will entice Covid burnt out educators to join our Chapter.
How do you handle getting members in a pandemic? The Executive Board has decided to allow potential members to visit our meetings which are currently planned to happen via Zoom. This is not a normal way to join our group we know but with the COVID-19, we thought we might have low interest especially with our actively teaching potential members. We are hoping this "Bring a Friend" model will spark interest and ignite new membership as a part of a year long membership drive. We are looking forward to seeing some new faces as this year's meeting lineup is timely and attractive to both current and prospective members. Our State President was consulted on this and as long as potential members are invited to meetings, we meet State requirements. Please check out information in this newsletter on our Spring Induction. If you are bringing a friend to a meeting, please let one of our co-presidents know -- Teresa S. or Teresa G.
